# 7.2 Slashing Conditions

Validators may face slashing (loss of staked tokens) for:

1. Extended downtime
2. Failing to detect and report fraud
3. Submitting invalid fraud proofs

Always ensure your node is properly configured and maintained to avoid slashing.
